Family Traits

This is me earlier this evening with my youngest grandson, The Boy Child.  I can look at this photo and smile for two reasons: 1) because The Boy Child is gorgeous and 2) he's such a chip off the old block.  His choice of reading material echoes the type of reading material his Grandpa would have chosen.
Isn't the science of genetics both wonderful and amazing at the same time.

Thanks

Thanks to all those who dropped by and welcomed me to blogland.

Back home

I arrived home yesterday evening after a lovely week up in the far north.  TTO has grown so much since I last saw him.  I am indeed his 'wee granny'
I had some interesting travelling companions on the train - a young Minister who was going on to Bethlehem and a Norwegian couple returning to Oslo. Conversation made the miles whizz by!
My neighbours had taken care of my house, so all the mail was in a tidy pile - but only one 'real' letter to read!
Today I have shopped and caught up with routine things.
Tomorrow I will catch up with the housegroup ladies and then go to the hairdressers.
At the weekend, the 'London office' will be here - that's daughter, husband and my other grandson TBC (The Boy Child) so next week there should be some photos to share.
To get this written I had to phone Liz as I had forgotten half of her instructions!
You may guess that where technology is concerned I could be called a dinosaur!!

City visit

This morning meant a train journey into the city. The scenery along the way was very atmospheric as fields and hills were all covered with mist.
After completing the business side of things with TTO we went to lunch and then to the shopping centre. Guess what?
I received an early Christmas present - and I'm allowed to wear it!!
Isn't it beautiful and aren't I a lucky girl.

If you come across me whilst browsing - stop and say hello.

'Tradition'

Monday morning started with blue skies and sunshine - so not wishing to waste the day, we (that's daughter and grandson known as The Teenage One) walked to Baxter's the home of the famous brand soups and jams.

It's a tradition that when family come to visit this part of the world to go there to  their restaurant and taste the pancakes.

The local scenery is so beautiful and as I enthused about it, TTO said 'But Granny, I see it every day - I live here!'

Hello and welcome

This is a new venture for me - hence the blog title!
Thought you might like to see how I have been spending some time over the last few days -  can't take credit for them all though.
