Catching up

It's been a strange week with things rather disorganised - but I won't bore you with the details!
Best to say that the card that I received recently lifted my spirit.

It's the simple things in life that make all the difference!

If you are stopping  to look here, then I hope that you will have a good day.

This day

'They went with songs to the battle, they were young
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted:
They fell with their faces to the foe.'

Saturday

At last!!!! Three cheers please - don't ask how I managed to get this picture here but I did.
This is a very rare scene - photographed from my front door  ....... no parked cars in my road.
Since the photo was taken, the school at the end of the road has a smart new entrance and the residents opposite have taken their dustbins in!!

technical hitch!

There was supposed to be a photo here of the wooden calendar that has been in the family for almost thirty years - simply showing today's date - Monday 5th of November.
The day known here in the UK as Guy Fawkes day when we supposedly remember the time when the said gentleman and his compnions tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament.
Not sure that's a good thing to celebrate - nowadays it's merely a commercial activity!
Bonfires and fireworks are not my choice of how to spend the evening .......
The technical hitch?
I can't get the photos to download from the camera - but don't despair, I'll get therein the end so watch this space - or better still send me written instructions!!!!!

This Moment

I went with Ruth and The Boy Child to have lunch with my neice today.  We stayed long enough to see her two children come home from school and for Ruth to take the obligatory "cousins photo".
Such lovely children, all of them.
I'm lucky to have them.
